pproval has been given to for a new high-rise project in Warsaw Poland. Named the Grzybowska Tower, the 130 metre tall project will be one of the first residential skyscrapers in the city.
Designed by world-renowned architectural firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill, the project will become one of the most exclusive addresses in the city with plans to set new standards of luxury living for those not affected by the credit crunch.
Set on a podium base, the tower is a simple box with glazed facades punctuated by balconies that give texture to the tower. Perhaps its most striking feature is the bladed feature that runs up the tower and extends over its roof perhaps creating what looks like the world's biggest sundial. Even if it isn't properly orientated to tell the time with it certainly makes the project noticeable on the skyline.
The tower will feature five underground parking levels, whilst the landscaped podium will be home to a health club with swimming pool, sauna and fully staffed gym.
Opulence is one intended keyword for the project, and residents will enter through a luxurious lobby area with concierge service as well as security to keep the riff-raff out. Staff will also be on hand day and night to cater to residents whims giving the project more the feel of a luxury hotel rather than a standard block of flats.
Developers IGD are also planning to secure a signature two level restaurant to serve local and international cuisine. Quite when work will start on the project is still unknown.
